Details of Pancha Bootha Linga's:

Kanchipuram (Ekambeshwarudu):-

Place: Kanchipuram (near to Chennai)
This temple was built in 6th century A.D, in Sri Krishna devaraya dynasty.
Stala puranam (history):- the linga which is called as pruthvi lingam was made by sri parvathi devi with sand so people couldn’t do abhisheka with water instead they use flowers the temple has the largest gopuram of 172 feet in south India and the mange tree which is 3500 yrs old is in the temple area. The tree gives 4types of fruits which indicates 4 Vedas. In the temple we found 1008 lingas, and here parvathi Devi is known as kamakshi Devi.

Jambukeshwaram (appulingeshwarudu):-

it was built in 11th century by cholas.
Place: tiruvanaikaval (near tiruchirappalli and srirangam)
We call it jumbukeshwaram Because lot of jambu trees in the place. This is the jala lingam (water) and we can see water under neath the linga all the times Tamil people worship the shiva lingam with the name appulingeshwarudu. (App means water in Tamil)
Stalapuranam(history) :- in olden days these was a great sage called shambudu who becomes gumbo tree, because he wished that he has to worship Shiva in all times. As per stala puranam, malavya and pushpadhantudu who were known to be prathama gana’s of shiva were quarilled all times and one day n an angry moment they cursed eath other to born like elephant and spider, so they were borned in a jumbo forest under the influence of that curse. The elephant worshipped Shiva with flowers and water brought in its trunk( so the name turn aanaikka) and the spider worshipped the Shiva by spinning the web on top of lingam, to protect it just like an umbrella the elephant destroys the web by water and flowers, and the same was done by spider with its web which leding them to a fight which resulted in the death of both. Malavya (spider) was born as chenkannan Rayal in chela’s family and is said to have been built several elevated temples, which have a main door with 4feet height and 2 ½ feet width to out of reach of elephants, keeping the view of his rival elephant in his last borth. Special attraction: - the priest wears a saree and kajal to his eyes to worship the linga in afternoon times.

Aruna Chaleshwarudu (tiruvannamalai):-

Aruna chaleshwarudu resembles fire. The temple was constructed in 25 acers with big gopuras and doors with 7 prakaras just like a great fort. The temple which we see at present was built by pallavas Rajas.
Stala Puranam(history):- as per stala puranam lord Brahma the creator and lord Vishnu were argued with each other, in order to compromise them lord Shiva becomes the tejo lingam and told he will give dearshana to all in karthika masam. So as per Tamil calendar in karthika masam they perform deepotsavam. We can see the remaining 4 pancha booth lingas models in the 3rd prakaram. Here we can also see the temples of chitragupta and darma devatha.

Srikalahastishwarudu (Srikalahasti):-

it was built by Sri Krishna devaraya Srikalahastishwarudu resembles wind the linga which we see here is not the original one and it is not round and smooth as other lingas. The original linga is in the garbha gruham which we can’t see because it’s made wind and we can believe that there are lives in wind form by the lights which were deviate front and back in the garbha gruha.
Stala puranam(history):- as per stala puranam sri means spider kala means snake and hasti means elephant there these three worship lord Shiva sincerely by destroying each others web stones water like that finally then fight with each other resulting there death in that place so the place was known by these three names jointly srikalahasti. Here we can find bakta kannappa temple we was tribal leader and becomes the devotee of Shiva this temple is specially known for Rahu Ketu Sarpa Dosha puja.

Koppulingshwarudu (Chidambaram):-

this is the last one in pancha booth lingas this linga resembles space. Means infinity or null. So their we can’t find any linga in the temple their will be a screen which will be removed after puja and their will be nothing in that place which is also known as Chidambara rahasyam.
Stala puranam (history):- as per stala puranam once upon a time the some munis who belons to Chidambaram learned mantra, tantra and behaves proudly with other, in order teach a lesson lord Shiva comes like a beggar. Them wifes of those munis were attracted by that beggar. Cause angry to those munis in that anger mode they throw snakes on that beggar and he wore that snakes like ornaments. This time they send a devil with their mantra and tantras. Shiva kills that devil and starts dancing (anandathandavam) on its body and becomes Natarajaswamy. The place is known as cosmic golden hall (chitsaba). We find 3rupas in that hall one is Nataraja Swamy (complete form), second one is Spaticarupam (incomplete form), the third one is empty (null mode). The main priest will perform pujas 6times a daily after that he sounds “Shivoham” which means even one is same.
Lord Shiva performed his dance in five places.
1. Chidambaram - Kanaka sabha
2. Thiruvalamgadu - Ratna sabha
3. Kurtalam - Chitra sabha
4. Madurai meenakshi temple - Rajatha sabha
5. Tirunalvellinelli appar temple - Tamra sabha
The temple consists 9 main doors and 4 sides the olden gali gopuras, garbha gudi (Chit Sabha),Kanaka Sabha(Nataraja Swamy),Natya Sabha(the place where Shiva dances with Kalikadevi), Rajya sabha(1000 pillar mandapam )deva sabha.chidambaram was in the way from Villupuram to Thanjjavur.
